Two Victims Revealed in the Ivy League School Shooting as Law Enforcement Persist in Hunt for Gunman.

The pair of scholars who died in Saturday’s violent attack in Providence were being remembered Monday – while an intensive search for their assailant persisted following the freeing by authorities in Rhode Island of the only individual detained in connection in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was called “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, as stated by the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a gathering on Sunday.

She served as second-in-command of Brown’s chapter of College Republicans of America, the group said. The White House press secretary also shared condolences online, stating: “Words cannot express. Thinking of her kin and peers, particularly her mother and father.”

The Second Victim

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the renowned school, his family confirmed.

His name was verified by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. His ambitions were lofty of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and helping people,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a online post.

The Shooting Incident

Nine other people were wounded in the weekend shooting in the engineering building of Brown’s university in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Authorities said by the end of Sunday that a 24-year-man taken into custody in a raid at a lodging about approximately 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was being released.

“There is a killer at large,” declared Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He added, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you must reassess and head another way, and that is the current situation over the last approximately one day.”

Ongoing Concerns

Providence’s mayor, Brett Smiley, admitted: “It is expected to provoke new worry for our public”.

The shooter began shooting inside a room in the engineering building on Saturday afternoon, firing more than 40 rounds from a 9mm pistol, a authority told the Associated Press.

Police that raided the hotel recovered two handguns and two ammunition clips when the suspect was arrested, the news agency reported.

Condition of the Injured

Among those wounded, one pupil was allowed to go home, said Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. Seven more were in critical but stable condition, and one remained in critical care, officials reported on Sunday.

Durham Academy, a private academy in Durham, North Carolina, said Kendall Turner, Kendall Turner, was among those critically wounded.

More Condolences

Cook was remembered at a memorial in Birmingham on Sunday. A reverend stated, “Her presence was a wonderful, steady, pious glow not only in her youth... but at the university she was an incredible light in that institution as well.”

Martin Bertao, Martin Bertao, posted a statement from the club. “Ella was recognized for her courageous, valiant, and compassionate nature as she worked for her branch and peers,” he said.

Jonathan Henick, Jonathan Henick, said he was “profoundly grieved” by the passing of Umurzokov in a message. “Our profound condolences go out to his relatives, loved ones, and schoolmates and mourn the loss of his potential.”
