🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Members Share Displeasure Regarding Sizing Updates Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information. The popular resale platform has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments without notifying every member regarding the update. Social Media Reaction Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification. The company said the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Updates Before the change, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Accounts One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she stated. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
