Red Bull has confirmed a major reshuffle for the 2026 Formula 1 season, promoting Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its senior team and handing British teenager Arvid Lindblad his first F1 drive. The young driver, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, will be the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the junior outfit Racing Bulls. This driver musical chairs sees Japan's Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat after five seasons. The New British Hope Arvid Lindblad participated in FP1 for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix this year. The youngster was marked out as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old. Talking about the team's young driver programme, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "appears very talented", praising his "natural quickness". The team has had a plan for some time to prepare Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, including appearances in Grand Prix practice at the British and Mexican races. The rookie said it was a "huge honour", adding: "Next season represents a massive test, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm prepared to work closely with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started." He has won two races in F2 this year and is sixth in the championship heading into the final round in Abu Dhabi. A Major Opportunity for Hadjar Isack Hadjar celebrates his maiden top-three finish in F1, achieved at the Zandvoort race this season. Hadjar's F1 career started in difficult fashion when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. However, since then, he has emerged as one of the stand-out newcomers of the year. His performances included an outstanding top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies 10th in the championship. The team principal said: "Hadjar has displayed great maturity and proved to be a fast adapter. Crucially, he has the raw speed that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can thrive alongside Max." Hadjar described it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "prepared". The Lawson Decision To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda. Lawson began the season with the senior squad but was demoted after just two races. However, he has settled back in at the junior outfit with notable results, convincing Red Bull he merits more time. The Japanese driver, meanwhile, loses his place after a difficult season. His highest finish is a P6, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's points total. The driver market moves confirm that there is also no spot on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
